The Minister of Labour, Dr Majeed bin Mohsen Al Alawi, yesterday received the representatives of the General Federation of Bahrain  Workers’ Unions, and discussed with them the dismissal of the chairman of Gulf Air Union, Mohammed Salem Khamis.
Khamis has expressed his keenness on going back to work saying that his dismissal was illegal.
The deputy general secretary of the federation, Salman Jafar Al Mahfodh, briefed the minister on the issue, calling upon him to support the workers by  establishing more active policies to protect them from illegal dismissals.
Dr Al Alawi issued directives to the federation to find the suitable solution. He also promised to follow up the issue with the Gulf Air management and the authorities concerned.
