A cultural competition was organised by the five governorates as part of their summer festivals.
The Northern Governorate contested against the Central, the Muharraq Governorate was pitted against the Capital and the Northern Governorate again competed against the Southern Governorate.
The competitions were open to men and women and comprised a number of quizzes in all subjects as well as general knowledge.
The head of the public relations of the festival, Essam Al Khayat, said that the competitions and programmes aimed to encourage the youth invest their time in constructive activities. He emphasised that the more they got involved in such programmes the more their knowledge and sense of team work would improve.
